Anesthesiology and Reanimation
Anesthesiologists are the most important members of the operating room team, often considered its unsung heroes. This is because surgery cannot begin without administering anesthesia to the patient. The medications used to prevent the patient from feeling pain during surgery are determined and administered by the anesthesiologist. Minimizing the potential adverse effects of anesthesia on the human body and ensuring that the patient awakens after surgery with vital functions unaffected are also among the anesthesiologist’s most important responsibilities. Anesthesia can only be administered by physicians who have completed specialized training in anesthesiology and reanimation on top of their medical education. Anesthesia technicians, trained to assist anesthesiologists throughout the surgery, are also a vital part of the anesthesia team. As the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, we successfully perform all kinds of surgical procedures.
